Empowering Young Minds for a Brighter Tomorrow
Welcome to the Inaugural Issue of Purple
Harrisburg Schools has so much good going on, and it is so worthy of celebration. Purple will serve as both a reflection of our growth and a window into the many ways we continue to thrive.
Dear Bulldog Nation,
It is with immense pride and excitement that I welcome you to the very first issue of Purple, Harrisburg Schools’ official magazine. In these pages, you’ll find a celebration of the heart, spirit, and determination that make up our incredible school district and community.
This inaugural issue brings to life stories that reflect who we are. From a father and son working together in the same middle school where the son once walked the halls as a student, to inspiring young entrepreneurs shaping their futures, to scholars achieving remarkable feats on their academic journeys—these stories remind us of the strength, resilience, and potential that define our students and our district.
You’ll also read about students who have faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience, showing buoyancy in the face of adversity. Their courage inspires us all to continue moving forward with hope and determination. From the active coach who will turn 90 this year to the talented educators who are blazing trails and meeting the needs of our students across an incredible range of academic opportunities, I couldn’t be prouder of who we are or more honored to be a part of it.
Harrisburg Schools has so much good going on, and it is so worthy of celebration. Purple will serve as both a reflection of our growth and a window into the many ways we continue to thrive. We are dedicated to building on our strengths, and we are excited to share these stories over the next several years with the community that supports and uplifts our young people.
Thank you for being a part of Bulldog Nation, for your unwavering support, and for joining us in celebrating the incredible work happening in our schools.
With Bulldog Pride,
Dr. Amy Dixon
Superintendent, Harrisburg Unit 3 Schools
