Empowering Young Minds for a Brighter Tomorrow
Welcome to the Inaugural Issue of The Point
"As we launch The Point, we hope it serves as both a reflection of all we’ve accomplished and a window into the work that continues."
To the Unity Point Community,
It is with great pride and excitement for our school that I welcome you to the very first issue of The Point, Unity Point School’s official magazine. In this quarterly publication, we will celebrate the heart and soul of our school, sharing the stories that reflect who we are as a community and how we work together to support the growth and success of our students.
In this inaugural issue, we are excited to feature a range of stories that truly capture the spirit of Unity Point. You’ll meet a dedicated teacher who has been shaping young minds for over 50 years, and we’ll introduce you to a remarkable brother-sister duo who are bridging the worlds of learning and scouting. You’ll also read about our secondgeneration bus driver who is not only an alumna of our school, but has become a beloved figure in the lives of our students. And we’re proud to highlight a new parent mentoring program that fosters connection and support for families as we work together to strengthen the bonds of our school community.
These stories, and many others, reflect the strength, dedication, and passion that make Unity Point such a special place. Our school is more than a building—it’s a community that is built on shared values, deep connections, and a commitment to nurturing the future of every child who walks through our doors.
As we launch The Point, we hope it serves as both a reflection of all we’ve accomplished and a window into the work that continues. We have so much to be proud of, and we are eager to share our progress and our pride with all of you—the families, friends, and neighbors who do so much to support our school.
Thank you for being a part of the Unity Point family, and for joining us in celebrating the stories that make our district extraordinary.
Yours in Education,
Dr. Lori James-Gross
Superintendent, Unity Point CCSD 140
