Making the most of the ramp-up period and having a clear understanding of the ins and outs of today’s college application and admissions process can be a game changer in terms of finding the right institutional fit, landing well, and putting together the necessary financial puzzle pieces.

J12 College Navigator is powered by a cast of experts hosted by Nanette Tarbouni, a former Director of Admissions at Washington University in St. Louis, one of America’s pre-eminent institutions of higher learning. Nanette also served for 13-years as the Director of College Counseling at John Burroughs School in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she helped many hundreds of high school graduates from a widely diverse set of socio-economic backgrounds find fit and need-based financial aid at America’s most highly regarded colleges and universities. Nanette is, herself, a product of rural beginnings—Middle Tennessee—and she shares a deep commitment to helping to level the playing field for hardworking rural students and their families.

Whether you’re just exploring the college option or you’re already planning on going to college but want to make the most of the selection, preparation, application, and financial-aid process, this live, virtual program, presented monthly, along with the complimentary online toolkit and resource cabinet, is a great place for you to start. It’s brought to you by Journey12, the same people who publish the official community engagement magazine for Districts across Illinois. We've saved the best for last: J12 College Navigator is made available to students and families of our District at absolutely no cost.

The monthly program launches on October 18th, 2023, and if you are interested, it would be wise to grab your seat and register now, below, as space is limited. The live, interactive program will be presented via Zoom. Connect with your guidance or counseling office for possible in-school options to connect with this program if you are unable to connect from home. Students and family members of 7th through 12th grades are welcome and encouraged to attend. Once you register, attendance details and alternate attendance sites will be emailed to you.
